Hi, I have a Production network in VMM 2012 that has a trunk from the managed ProCurve switch (running VLANs, routing between VLANs done by an external firewall) to the guest VM nic. The connection from switch to Hyper-V guest network is a trunk carrying VLANs 69 and 200. I have created the Fabric Logical Network as below.
Since the port carries tagged frames, I need to set the guest VM native VLAN (if i did not do this, it wouldn't natively exist on any VLAN and I cant see an option to set VLAN inside the operating system under NIC driver properties). As an administrator I click
the Enable
VLAN
tick box and select the desired VLAN. This all works fine and the server can communicate OK.
Viewing the same machine as a self service user, I am unable to select the VLAN and can only select the adapter. Since there is no option to Enable
VLAN
and select the native VLAN, the server cannot communicate (as its sending untagged frames, on a tagged switch port).
I have the 2 questions:
- How can i go about having self-service users select the appropriate network that is in the correct native VLAN?
- Why is the VM Subnet box empty?
Thanks in advance for any people who can help.
