To spare my own time, I would like your opinions on this. I´m planning to start learning VMM on my lab, and I´m a little bit confused what I need and where should I start. I already installed VMM on my Hyper-V host and integrate it to support the host, but that´s it. Also I don´t want to purchase any additional hardware for this.
Overall, I would like to get this done with VMM:
- provision new VMs from template to my host
- provision new host with VMM (I have extra XEON server for this purpose).
I currently have one hyper-v host (workgroup) running AD, SQL cluster and Configuration Manager. All connectivity is done with RRAS and simple switches. Networking is discribed in RRAS and Hyper-V host. RRAS is also virtual.
- Some one said to me that first I need is to virtualize my networking in VMM. Is there Getting Started instruction what I need to do in this scenario?
- I have no clue how to create Golden Image / Template in VMM. I have this experience in VMware and ConfMgr OSD, but seems it doesn´t help at all. I feel VMM is much more complicated than ESXi and vCenter functionalities.
