Hi, I´m currently having trouble trying to figure out how to permit an Application Administrator user, to be able to properly configure the Network Adapters of the VMs he manages.
Right now the Hyper-V server he has permissions is on 2008 R2, so we didn´t configured any Networking features of VMM on him.
If a regular VMM administrator goes to the Network Adapter properties of a VM in this Hyper-V server, he can configure the standard switch and the VLAN ID, but if the Application administrator who has permissions on that same Hyper-V server tries to configure the VM Network adapter, he cannot see the options for standard switch or VLAN ID, he can only configure a VM Network.
I tried configuring then a Logical Network with the VLANs configured in a Site, then created a VM Network as well, went to the Hyper-V Host properties and in the Network Adapter settings enabled the Logical Network and it´s VLANs as well. Then went to the User Role and enabled this VM Network to be allowed for usage.
After that, I logged back in to the console with the application administrator account and selected the VM, went to the Network Adapter properties and selected the VM Network, but still can´t see any VLANs or any other things besides VM Networks.
How can I configure this? How can I properly permit the user role to view the standard switch and VLANs on the VM Network Adapter properties?
Thank you for your replies.
