Hi, I found something today while building some new Virtual Servers via SCVMM, I have been building some lab servers for testing our applications. During the create Virtual machine Wizard , I typed the same name of a machine that already existed and was running and joined to our domain. (by accident)
SCVMM went to create this machine and join it to the domain, which broke the Computer Account in AD for the existing Server.
Now normally if you were to do this manually , and join a server to the domain, if the account already existed it would tell you and not let you go any further.
So I don't understand how SCVMM can bypass this error can continue.
you can log into the newly created Server, but the existing one says its trust relationship is broken with AD.
I tried this again, and it works everytime, we have a custom Answer.xml file, and I have used my Creds for SCVMM to use to join servers to AD.
The question is, is this a bug, or done by design ?
