I have a Server 2012 Host in a parent domain which has Virtual Machines in both the parent domain, and child domain on our network. I also run SCVMM 2012 SP1 from a 2012 server in the parent domain.
I have no issue changing settings on the virtual machines in the parent domain hosted on the 2012 Host, but when I attempt to make changes to servers in the child domain running on the 2012 Host I get the following error(s):
"Error (12700)
VMM cannot complete the host operation on the host.parent.com server because of the error: 'childvm' failed to modify settings. (Virtual machine ID XYX)
'childvm' encountered an unexpected error: Generic failure (0x80041001). (Virtual machine ID XYX)
Unknown error (0x8007)
Recommended Action
Resolve the host issue and then try the operation again."
There is a two-way trust between child and parent domains. The Domain account I am currently using with SCVMM is local Administrator on all of the child servers, and an Enterprise Admin in the parent domain. I'm sure there's a permissions issue with WinRM
on the child servers, but I am stumped as to how I resolve it.
Thanks!
