Using wrong edition of SQL 2012 with SCVMM 2012 R2

We've had an SCVMM system working for a while but when we try and login to the VMM Console it won't allow it because the SQL Server eval license has expired.

We downloaded an Eval copy of SQL 2012 R2 with SP1 in order to get the system built while we waited for the licences to appear in the VL portal.

I tried to run a SQL version upgrade using the key in the VL portal but it fails to accept it and on further investigation it looks like we should have used the SQL ISO from the portal?

If this is the case can we change the current SQL Server install to use the ISO that we now have access to?

I suspect we might need to backup the current DB, remove SQL, install the "correct" SQL and then restore the DB to get VMM working again?

Cheers for now

Russell
