I'm trying to figure out how Hyper-V and SCVMM know which virtual network to use for SMB storage. I created a logical network site, VM network (that I'm not sure I need), and a port profile for SMB and associated it with a switch; all good. I then added the switch to a host and created a virtual adapter to leverage the SMB network. What I don't see anywhere is what is telling the SMB storage traffic to use that adapter and port. I can set the network for LM (in cluster manager or VMM...cluster manager works) and I can set the adapters for management through the hardware settings for the host, but what about SMB? I've read some stuff about setting prioritization metrics with Powershell but this was pre-2012 SP1 stuff.
What am I missing?
