I have installed SCVMM 2016 on a Windows 2016 server. I followed the deployment guide on TechNet, created a service account that was a local admin on the server, did the SPN stuff, had our DBA create the DB with SA as the DB owner and the Service Account having Sysadmin rights just for giggles to see if we could get the connection to work, but no dice. The install finishes (VMManager and the VConsole on the same server) and when I launch VMM, and connect to local host:8100 with my current credentials I get this error:
VMM is unable to perform tthis operation without a connection to a virtual machine manager management server
Use the Get-VMMServer cmdlet or the -VMMSERVER parameter to connect to a Virtual Machine Manager management server.

I've ran those commandlets and when I put in the server name of the VMM server it still isn't recognized. The services are all started..... I'm baffled as to what I need to do to open VMM.
Any ideas?
