When I deploy the VMM client to a host, I get an error that says "Installation of switch extension found in C:\Program Files\Microsoft System Center\Virtual Machine Manager\SwExtn\DHCPExtn.msi failed for host $host". Installing that specific extension
manually gives me the error 'There is a problem with this Windows Installer package" message. This has a domino effect when I go to deploy my logical switches, which don't deploy at all.
This has been a new problem since I installed the July 2019 updates. I've gone as far as completely rebuilding my VMM server (but keeping the database) with freshly downloaded ISOs for both Windows server and VMM but this problem persists. Uninstalling the
July updates didn't help either, so I'm not entirely convinced that's the problem.
I'm running VMM 1807 on server 2016 and all of my hosts are running server 2016 as well. What can I do to get this extension working again?
