Hi,
For a while now I've been periodically alerted about the vmmservice crashing on my two-node VMM 2012 SP1 cluster running Windows Server 2012. These two nodes run the clustered VMM management service, but I also have a two-node SQL cluster that the VMM database sits on. When these alerts appear and the cluster role (the VMM service) fails, I can see the following event in the event logs:
[Event ID 19999]
Virtual Machine Manager (vmmservice:8332) has encountered an error and needed to exit the process. Windows generated an error report with the following parameters:
Event:VMM20
P1(appName):vmmservice
P2(appVersion):3.1.6020.0
P3(assemblyName):Utils
P4(assemblyVer):3.1.6020.0
P5(methodName):M.V.D.SqlRetryCommand.InternalExecuteReader
P6(exceptionType):M.V.DB.CarmineSqlException
P7(callstackHash):a690
.
[Event ID 1615]
VMM is unable to perform this operation without a connection to a Virtual Machine Manager management server.
Use the Get-VMMServer cmdlet or the -VMMServer parameter to connect to a Virtual Machine Manager management server. For more information, type at the command prompt: Get-Help Get-VMMServer -detailed.
Event 1615 occurs 1 second before the error 19999.
I have looked into other posts on this and other sites and have checked that the VMM database size is fine, and I have also tried the suggestions at the following location: http://www.systemcentercentral.com/vmm-error-with-event-id-19999-crashes-vmm-service/ as I also use SCOM 2012 SP1 with the SCOM-VMM integration, but I still get the same issues.
I don't actually even have any virtual machines running in this environment! I do have three Windows Server 2012 Hyper-V hosts that have been added to VMM and are all part of the same cluster, but that is it.
I would really appreciate any help that anyone can give me.
Many thanks
