VMM 2012 SP1 with volume GUIDs

I've just installed VMM 2012 SP1 to take over from our VMM 2008 R2, and move our VMs from their 2008 R2 home to a new 2012 environment.

The old Hyper-V cluster used an EVA SAN, and VM storage was on individual LUNs presented as volume GUIDs. The old VMM server had no problems managing this. However VMM 2012 SP1 is throwing up a couple of errors that make no sense. I can create a VM on the old cluster on available storage, however if I try to add another disk to the LUN it just  created the VM on I get a 2904 error:

Error (2904)
VMM could not find the specified path \\?\Volume{b4721089-e0df-11e2-95c5-0024817eb892}\SP-SQL-01\ on the hyperv-node4.benendensch.local server.

Recommended Action
Ensure that you have specified a valid file name parameter, and then try the operation again.

Which makes no sense as it's just created the VM on that volume. The other error I'm seeing is if I add an ISO to a VM it goes into unsupported configuration, and then I try to remove the ISO I get a 13932 error:

Error (13932)
The file \\?\Volume{b4721077-e0df-11e2-95c5-0024817eb892}\SP-WFE-01\SW_DVD5_Win_Svr_Std_and_DataCtr_2012_64Bit_English_Core_MLF_X18-27588.ISO is in a share which is not registered to the cluster HyperV-Cluster.benendensch.local.

Recommended Action
Register the share to the cluster, and then try the operation again.

So, it managed to add the ISO, but is unable to remove it! I guess I'm missing some configuration along the way, but the old version of VMM just worked.

Any help warmly welcomed :D
