Last night we had to replace the controller array battery in our SCVMM 2012 server. After we powered it back up, all our hosts are showing Needs Attention status. Can't seem to see that anything's wrong. I've refreshed each cluster and each host separately but it still shows Needs Attention. Anyone seen this before?
Further investigation revealed that SCVMM CU 4 was installed and this means we need to update the agents on each host. Now we're getting "Error 2910 VMM does not have appropriate permission" trying to update the agents.
Finally found a way to update my agents. Weird issue getting there however. Before I upgraded my agent, I looked at a host and saw that we put the VMM server in the local admin group on the host. Good. Then we upgraded the agent from the VMM console. Then looked back and saw the VMM server was removed from the local admins group on the host. Geez. Put it back in and then refreshed the host. Voila! Everything is green and OK!
