I am currently running SCVMM 2012 R2 with three clusters, one that is running 2008 R2, one that is running 2012 and the final one is running 2012 R2.
Currently the 2012 R2 cluster is all running older hosts, I'm planning to add newer HW as I get more machines migrated to it. The 2012 cluster is running both newer and older HW. The 2008 R2 cluster is running newer and older HW.
I am currently in the process of attempting to migrate machines from the 2012 cluster to the 2012 R2 cluster. I have setup a RunAs account associated with the clusters for Host Access. I had successfully migrated two machines from the 2012 cluster to the 2012 R2 cluster.
However, apparently I have changed something that I am unaware of, and now when I attempt to migrate a virtual machine from the 2012 cluster to the 2012 R2 cluster I get the following error:
"Configuration issues related to the virtual machine [VirtualServerName] prevent deployment and must be resolved before deployment can continue."
I also get warning of:
"There currently are no network adapters with network optimization available on host HOSTNAME."
I don't think that should be a stopper as I've seen that one before.
I'm not sure what the configuration issue is however, and I can't see where it is actually giving me specific details of what it is that I need to fix.
I have also noticed that I can no longer migrate virtual machines onto the older HW in my 2012 cluster. However if I use the Failover cluster manager instead of SCVMM it works fine, so I don't think there is anything broken in the cluster.
I can migrate virtual machines between hosts on the 2012 R2 cluster.
I'm hopeful that I have just done something silly that can be fixed, but I'm not sure what it is, or where things are being logged that can let me know what these configuration problems are.
Any help would be much appreciated.
