I have deployed a Windows 2012 R2 Hyper V cluster, Dell EDqualLogic and SCVMM 2012 R2. :)
It all seems to work fine, but I can't understand the storage quotas, they just don't make sense. I have built a private cloud on top of the cluster, set the resource allocation to 100 VMs, 120 CPU, 200GB RAM and 4TB disk space. I have created a user role and assigned exactly the same quotas as I did to the cloud 100/120/200/4.All quota work ok except for the disk.
If I check the cloud overview, it says 2.5TB used, this is correct and confirmed by checking the used space on the cluster shared volume.
When I check the user disk quota, it says that 7TB is in use, clearly it isn't as the only available storage is 4TB in size. I don't understand how it calculates the users disk quota, but it isn't the same as the cloud quota.
I am guessing the cloud quota refers to actual disk usage and the user quota refers to the disk usage possible (if all the dynamic disks reach full capacity) - but I cannot find this explained anywhere on the net.
Can anyone help ?
:) Thanks
