I'm using the "Hybrid Cloud with NVGRE" document to test out multi-tenancy. However, I can't get the "gateway" system to configure properly.
The test configuration is: 5 Hyper-V hosts running Windows Server 2012 R2, with VMs for all the System Center 2012 R2 components. (As configured by the PowerShell Deployment Toolkit.) A separate Gateway Hyper-V host also running WS2K12R2.
All of the Hyper-V hosts and System Center VMs are all part of the same domain. All the physical systems are on a separate private (managed) network switch. In addition, the Gateway physical system has a second network interface to the Internet.
I have performed steps 1 through 7 (server hosts, logical networks, port profiles, port classifications, and logical switches) without any errors. Also, adding the private switch facing logical switch (Production Switch) to the gateway host succeeds.
However, when I attempt to add the internet facing logical switch (Gateway Switch) to the gateway host, the operation times out.
Looking at the Hyper-V Manager on the Gateway host, I can see the Gateway Switch has been added, but there are no network adapters to allow connectivity. This may be the reason for the time-out, although I would have expected the "handshake"
traffic to go over the private network.
I have checked my implementation of the steps in the document numerous times and I cannot find any errors.
Any ideas what I may have done wrong?
Thanks in advance.
