Configuring Networking

Hi All,

I must be missing something.

In my lab I have a HP Blade with two Flex-10 NICs.  This blade is installed with a fairly plain instance of Server 2012 R2 Core.

In my SCVMM 2012 R2 I have a logical switch defined, port profiles for the uplinks and logical networks for the management, cluster & live migration networks, each logical network has an IP Pool defined.  The Management network is untagged, cluster and live are in vlans 103 & 104 respectively.

The First NIC (lowest Index) in the blade has the static IP that I want the management vNIC to end up with.

When I add the logical switch to the host via SCVMM the switch and team get created, but the static IP doesn't get moved to the management vNic (The Inherit settings from physical adapter check box is ticked), consequently the team gets a DHCP address, vmm loses contact with the host and cannot complete the configuration of the other vNics. If I quickly statically set the IP once VMM has configured the team so it reports back, it reports an error stating that an error occurred applying the settings from physical network adapter to the team.

I can't help but think I'm missing something!

Any pointers appreciated.

Stu
