Hi,
I'm in the process of setting up a Hyper-V cluster (all 2012) and not sure what happens to the current connections and volumes when we ask SCVMM to manage the default storage pool on our Dell EqualLogic storage. We have 2 x 2012 Hyper-V servers and a Dell EqualLoigic iSCSI NAS (4000 & 6000 in a single default storage pool).
The default storage pool has the full capacity of the available storage and has a number of volumes on it used for other servers.
We are looking to do what is shown in the following link:
http://seanmcrawford.com/scvmm-installing-and-configure-dell-equallogic-arrays-with-smp/
It all looks great, but what happens to the volumes already on the default storage pool when SCVMM has management rights to it (I don't want anything bad happening to the volumes already there)?
I would have liked to create a new storage pool instead, but the default storage pool has all the available space assigned and I can't see a way of reclaiming it. Creating a "hyperV" storage pool would have been my preferred way.
